Our Adoption Process
Looking to add a furry friend to your family? At Ahimsa Safe Haven, we provide a safe and loving environment for cats and kittens in need and match them with their forever homes. Our adoption process is straightforward and designed to ensure the well-being of both the cats and their new families.
-
Explore our website to view the adorable kittens currently available for adoption in Southeast Michigan. We provide detailed profiles and photos for each kitten, allowing you to learn about their unique personalities and characteristics. You'll find kittens of various breeds, colors, and ages, ensuring there's a perfect match for every family.
-
Once you've found a kitten (or kittens!) that captures your heart, complete our adoption application. The application helps us understand your lifestyle, preferences, and expectations, allowing us to make the best possible match. We take great care in ensuring our kittens are placed in loving, responsible homes.
-
After receiving your adoption application, our team will review it carefully. We will contact you to discuss your application in more detail. This conversation is an opportunity for us to learn more about you, answer any questions you may have, and assess the compatibility between you and the kitten you're interested in.
-
Once your application is approved, it's time to meet the kitten! We'll arrange a meet and greet session at our rescue or at one of our foster locations. This allows you to interact with the kitten, see their personality firsthand, and ensure the connection feels right for both of you.
-
If everything goes well during the meet and greet, it's time for the exciting day of adoption! We'll guide you through the necessary paperwork, including signing the adoption contract and paying the adoption fee, which helps cover the cost of vaccinations, microchipping, and other essential care provided to the kitten.
