Jack Goes to the Humane Society
We hit up the humane society this morning to see if Jack had a microchip (he doesn’t 😞) and since we were in town, Jack said he wanted Starbucks. Obviously I HAD to oblige. Iced coffee for me, puppaccino for Jack. I didn’t tell him we also made an appointment to have him neutered. 😬

Evenings with Jack
Evenings with Jack. ❤️ The humane society has been AMAZING at squeezing us in to whatever spaces open up, so Jack may be getting neutered as soon as Wednesday. Assuming all goes well, he will be ready to go home before the end of the week!
I previously said that Jack would be good with dogs and small children, but I am unfortunately changing my mind about the small children part. He is SWEET AS PIE, but his friendly little “don’t pet me there” bites aren’t so friendly. He doesn’t intend to hurt, but this kid has jaws of steel and well, it does hurt. But he is soooo stinkin wonderful. As long as you understand his boundaries, he is coooool as a cucumber and just wants to lay in your lap! I just adore him!

Jack's Diagnosed with Feline Leukemia
Something positive about Jack’s FeLV diagnosis - he has no idea. He isn’t worried. He isn’t going through an existential crisis thinking his life will be shortened. He doesn’t care that he has one of the most serious feline diseases. He’s just... Jack. He likes canned food with gravy and getting his cheeks scratched. He likes laying on laps. He’s living in the moment. There are times that I wish I could explain everything to the animals, and there are times like this I’m grateful they can’t understand. All he really needs to know is that he’s safe and loved. And I’m pretty sure that’s something he knows even without words. ❤️Description goes here

Jack Gets His Teeth Cleaned
Our sweet Jack had his teefers cleaned and a couple pulled today! This was when he was drunk and in recovery. 😆
Did you know that dental care is an important part of routine cat health care? Over time, cats can build up plaque and gingivitis just like humans. Can you imagine never brushing your teeth? 😝 If not taken care of, cats can developed pain, irritation, swelling, even infections in their mouths. Dental problems are common in feline leukemia virus cats, but tooth and gum care are important for all cats!

Jack Relaxes On The Catio
FeLV residents Papa (top) and Jack relaxing on their catio perches this evening. The day was hot but the cool breeze that came in just before the sun set was absolute perfection. 👌😻
