Teddy Gets a Visit
From Chubby Goat Acres:
Yesterday was an extremely busy day for us here, and in the stress and rush of saving Reggie, we had no time to share it with you.
We took Bonnie, mama to the Saginaw Scientists, down to Purdue Large Animal Hospital to be spayed. When we were there, we picked up two lovely Cornish chickens, Tom and Crinkle (pics to come), who were rescued by a vet student there.
Then, we headed up to Ahimsa Safe Haven to pick up Molly, mama to the Saginaw Civil Rights Leaders, and Harriet (formerly Amelia). It was so fulfilling to see them, Teddy (formerly Clyde), and Capone. They are incredibly happy in their new digs, with lots of grass to graze in and am enormous wallow. Luckily the girls loaded up easily- Capone tried to go along for a ride- and we were off.
That’s when we got the call about Reggie and plans changed.
Thankfully, we were able to leave our trailer there, and Chris raced down to Ohio to work on saving Reggie. Cari, the founder of Ahimsa, sprang into action looking for transporters. Cari’s dad and Dave ended up hauling Molly and Harriet down to Erin's Farm NFP, since Purdue was closed by then. Erin is incredible, and stepped up to make sure those two ladies completed their trip for their spays today.
Yesterday was exhausting, intense, and very long. We were able to accomplish so much because of the close friendships with other sanctuaries and animal advocates. When we work together, the animals win.

Teddy's Spa Day
Teddy doesn’t seem to mind that the girls have gone away for the afternoon. More mud for him! He’s taking this opportunity for a little spa day. I gave him some cucumbers for his eyes but he decided he would rather eat them. 🤷🏻♀️

Teddy is Doing Well
My heart! ❤️🐽🐷 Our 4 pig pigs are doing so well here. We figured out a way to expand their pasture into the woods before fall, and they will have an amazing little cove surrounded by tall trees to relax in. Molly and Harriet have recovered well from their spays, and life is only looking up for these kids! I’m so excited and happy for them.
